~How the Songs Came About~

Happy Hour- While visiting Mexico a group of friends and myself were passing by a bar that had a sign saying "Two for One drinks during Happy Hour". I asked the man at the door when Happy Hour would begin. He said "right now". So this inspired me to write the song and also to name our boat "Happy Hour" where every hour is happy hour.

TGIF- Friday night is my favorite time of the week. After working all week I look forward to the Friday night social time at our boat club. Folks gather and trade stories of the past and present.

Sailing on a Moonlit Bay- Nothing is more peaceful and soothing than sailing on a warm night with a gentle breeze on calm waters. It's the closest thing to heaven I've found.

Old Salt- Every boat club seems to have at least one around. There's even Bubba Whartz in the Seafaring Magazine. He's a guy who knows everything about boats and has great stories to tell. He's usually a little rough around the edges and a little out of the ordinary but when you get to know him he's "one of a kind".

A Simple Life- I've come to realize that at the end of my life I want to have memories of the good times I've had and not just memories of the things I've had. Enjoy life now.

Dock Party- Once a year we have a dock party where one dock takes their turn at hosting all the others. Boats are decorated and with lights and anything tropical. People are invited on each others boat for fun, food, and drinks. Music and dancing carries on into the "wee" hours of the night.

Sailing on a Sunny Day- There's nothing like going out for a sail on a warm and sunny summer day. It's paradise when you feel that warm summer breeze on your face and you see that deep blue sea.

It Never Snows in Mexico- I've been to Mexico almost every winter over the last several years. I keep saying I won't go back but each winter when those icy cold winds start to blow and I start thinking about those nice warm beaches and that crystal clear ocean. It starts to call me back.

Harbor in the Sky- I don't think I will ever stop sailing but when I'm gone I hope I can set my anchor in that harbor in the sky.

Blame it no Buffett- This song was adapted from a song by Kelly McGuire, a sailor out of Texas. I thank him for allowing me to use the song and hope you will check out his music.

Blue Bayou- This is my version of a tune made famous by Roy Orbison. I just love the song.
